Aerial Screensaver

Aerial is a macOS screen saver that reproduces the video content originally featured in Apple TV’s Aerial screensaver. It streams a collection of high‑resolution aerial footage from cities, natural landscapes, and Earth‑orbit perspectives, and it also supports third‑party video packs and user‑added files stored anywhere on the system. The saver includes a companion application that can update the video library, control playback, and optionally run the footage as a dynamic desktop wallpaper.

The software targets macOS users who want visually rich, continuously changing backgrounds without manual video management. It is suitable for both single‑monitor and multi‑monitor setups, though multi‑monitor support may be limited on certain beta releases of macOS. The companion UI offers basic controls such as pause, skip, and speed adjustments, and it integrates overlays like Apple Music and Spotify.

Aerial is released under an open‑source license, with development hosted on GitHub. It is considered stable, supports macOS Tahoe and newer versions, and regularly incorporates new video packs contributed by the community.
