Comment system built in Golang, providing a lightweight and highly customizable solution for adding comments to your website.
Artalk provides a self‑hosted comment solution written in Go for the server side and pure vanilla JavaScript for the client, keeping the front‑end bundle around 40 KB and independent of any framework. It can be deployed with a single Docker command or run directly on any platform that supports Go, giving site owners full control over data and privacy.
The system includes a sidebar for quick management, social‑account login, email and push notifications, captcha verification, and moderation tools such as spam detection and content filtering. Users can upload images, write in Markdown, insert emojis, and interact with comments through voting, sorting, searching, pinning, and hierarchical nesting with infinite scroll.
Additional features support multi‑site isolation, admin authentication, page view statistics, IP region display, data migration, and auto‑saving of drafts. The software is released under the MIT license, is free to use, and is maintained as a stable, open‑source project.
