betterglobekey
Make macOS Globe key great again!
The utility replaces macOS’s default handling of the Globe key with a configurable system that lets users cycle through input sources more intuitively. It introduces two operating modes: a single‑press mode that steps through a defined list of keyboards or input methods, and a double‑press mode that switches between separate collections of those lists. Users configure the collections in a simple YAML file, and the tool determines the current active source on start‑up to begin cycling from that point.
Single‑press actions move to the next source within the active collection, while double‑press actions jump to the next collection, with the allowable interval between presses set in milliseconds. This design aims to reduce the intrusiveness of the built‑in Globe key behavior and make frequent input‑source changes smoother.
The project is open source, free to use, and considered stable. It targets macOS users who regularly switch between multiple keyboards or input methods and who want a more predictable, customizable Globe‑key experience.
