Beyond Compare

Beyond Compare lets developers, system administrators and other users examine differences between files, folders, FTP sites, cloud storage and zip archives. It offers a set of commands that can focus on selected changes while ignoring irrelevant ones, and it presents text, binary, image and table data with dedicated viewers that support syntax highlighting and customized comparison rules.

The tool also provides a merge view that combines two versions of a file or folder into a single result. Color‑coded sections and section highlighting make it easy to accept, reject or edit individual changes, and the built‑in editor can modify the output directly. Integration with version‑control systems enables check‑in and check‑out operations without leaving the application.

Beyond Compare can synchronize local data with remote locations, including FTP and cloud services, using filters to limit the scope of comparison. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, and a free trial is available for evaluation.
