Blankie provides a macOS‑only ambient sound mixer that lets users combine a set of high‑quality built‑in audio loops to create personalized soundscapes. The interface offers preset management for saving and recalling favorite mixes, and it integrates with macOS media keys, Control Center, and AirPod controls for seamless operation. All audio is processed locally, with no ads, subscriptions, or required accounts, and the app can be installed via Homebrew.

The software targets people who want background audio to aid concentration, relaxation, or sleep, and it supports eleven languages for its UI. While the current version supplies fourteen ambient tracks, a future update will allow users to import custom sounds, expanding the range of possible mixes. Blankie is open source, verified by Apple, and runs on macOS 14.6 or later without an internet connection.
