BobHelper

Helper tool designed for Bob to solve the shortcut key issue

Visit

BobHelper is a standalone macOS application that works alongside the Bob translation and OCR program to address a shortcut‑key limitation introduced in macOS 15 Sequoia. The operating system blocks the use of “Option + letter” combinations, which constitute most of Bob’s default shortcuts, resulting in reduced functionality for users on affected OS versions.

The app restores normal operation of those “Option + letter” shortcuts by installing a communication script that interacts with Bob. Users must run Bob version 1.11.0 or newer, grant any permission prompts, and enable the script through Bob’s preferences under “功能增强.” The tool is only required for macOS 15.0, 15.1, and the early 15.2 Beta; later releases of macOS 15.2 and above have the issue resolved, making BobHelper unnecessary.

Installation and removal follow standard macOS procedures. Updating is handled within BobHelper itself, while the companion script can be manually deleted from the user’s Library Scripts folder if desired. The project is marked as stable and targets macOS users needing the shortcut fix.
