Buddi

Buddi is a macOS application that integrates with Claude Code, presenting an ASCII‑style companion that reacts in real time to the model’s activity. The interface displays a dashboard where a chosen buddy—selected from 18 distinct species with individual visual traits and personality statistics—animates as Claude thinks, reads, writes, or encounters errors. Users can approve or deny tool calls directly from the notch area, eliminating the need to switch to a terminal.

The app supports multiple concurrent Claude Code sessions, each maintaining its own buddy, and works out of the box with multiplexed terminal environments such as Cmux and tmux. Its implementation uses native SwiftUI, providing a lightweight and fast experience that is tightly integrated with macOS, including the Sequoia version requirement.

Buddi is aimed at developers who use Claude Code and want a visual, interactive companion that offers immediate feedback and control over tool calls, while also allowing them to monitor several sessions simultaneously without leaving the macOS notch.
