CERNBox Client

CERNBox provides CERN members with a personal cloud storage space of up to 1 TB after initial login, hosted on CERN’s own data‑center infrastructure. Users can access their files from any device, synchronize changes across desktops, and share content with collaborators. The service supports a variety of file types, including office documents and Jupyter notebooks, which can be edited directly in a web browser.

The client is built on open‑source components and integrates with CERN’s storage back‑ends such as EOS and CephFS via the Reva interoperability platform. This architecture enables seamless interaction between mobile, web, and desktop applications while keeping data on CERN premises for security and compliance.

CERNBox is positioned for researchers and staff who need reliable, centrally managed storage for large scientific datasets and routine collaborative work, offering universal access, synchronization, and sharing within the CERN ecosystem.
