ChatFolders is a Chrome extension that adds folder organization to AI chat interfaces on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok. It stores all folder metadata locally in the browser, so no external servers are involved and the user’s data remains on the device. Users can create, rename and color‑code folders, then drag and drop individual conversation threads into the appropriate folder to keep their AI‑generated content sorted by project, topic or personal preference.

The extension supports up to 30+ folder colors and offers a “Smart Folders” view that groups chats for easier navigation. In the free tier users receive unlimited top‑level folders and basic drag‑and‑drop functionality, while a premium subscription unlocks sub‑folders, cross‑folder search, and the ability to export and import the entire folder structure.
