Context
MCP client and inspector
Context is a native macOS client designed for developing and debugging Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers. It runs on macOS 15.0+ and offers full support for the MCP specification, allowing users to connect to multiple servers, inspect tool definitions, and interact with server‑exposed functionality through a graphical interface.
The application generates UI controls for calling tools based on their input schemas, displays responses as raw JSON or rendered Markdown, and provides a prompt‑engineering workspace where dynamic arguments can be supplied via server‑provided templates. Resource content can be previewed with syntax highlighting and QuickLook, while live log streaming shows structured attributes and supports content filtering.
Context also imports server configurations from popular editors and tools, streamlining the setup process for developers. The software is released under an open‑source license, is marked as stable, and is freely available for download.
