CoRD
Remote desktop client
CoRD is a Mac OS X client that implements Microsoft’s Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to connect to Windows machines. It presents each remote session in a separate window or consolidates them into a single pane, with automatic resizing and a full‑screen mode that mimics sitting at the remote PC. Clipboard contents are synchronized between the Mac and the remote server, allowing seamless copy‑and‑paste.
The application targets users who need to access Windows terminals from a Mac, such as system administrators managing multiple servers or office workers using a terminal server. It stores server details locally and provides hot‑key shortcuts and a server drawer for rapid connections, simplifying workflows when handling many remote hosts.
CoRD is free and open source, built specifically for macOS, and has been declared defunct as of 2020, with the project’s author recommending alternatives such as Microsoft’s own clients or the FreeRDP suite. The last stable release is 0.5.7.
