Cornerstone provides a native macOS client for Subversion (SVN) that emphasizes speed and usability. It supports core SVN operations such as checkouts, updates, commits, and merges, while offering a graphical interface that integrates syntax‑highlighted diffs, annotations, and history navigation tools. The client is built to take advantage of recent macOS features, delivering faster checkout and update performance compared with earlier versions.

The application adds two workflow‑oriented features not found in other Mac SVN tools: Shelving and Checkpointing. Shelving lets users temporarily set aside uncommitted changes as a “shelf” that can be re‑applied later, while Checkpointing records intermediate states of the working copy, allowing rapid restoration to a previous point without committing. These mechanisms help developers switch tasks or experiment without polluting the repository history.

Cornerstone is distributed for macOS 10.11 and later, includes dark‑mode support, and manages licenses within the app. It is positioned for developers who need a dedicated SVN client on macOS with enhanced comparison utilities and the ability to manage unfinished work efficiently.
