DDNet

DDNet is a multiplayer platform game built on the Teeworlds engine, extending the original DDRace modification with cooperative mechanics. Players can join servers worldwide, work together to complete custom maps that support up to 64 participants, and earn ranks and points that are shared across the network. The client and server software are actively maintained, with regular updates such as version 19.8.2.

The community organizes international tournaments on specially prepared maps, allowing competitors to race for first‑place finishes and showcase new level designs. Users can also create and host their own maps or run private servers, leveraging the same core gameplay and ranking system. Official servers are distributed globally, providing low‑latency access for players on macOS and other platforms.

DDNet is supported by a funding model that sustains server operation through donations, and it maintains a Discord‑based community for discussion and moderation. The project is classified as stable and targets players who enjoy cooperative, fast‑paced platforming and competitive map‑running.
