DeaDBeeF

Modular audio player

Visit

DeaDBeeF is a modular audio player that runs on macOS, GNU/Linux, Windows, *BSD and other UNIX‑like systems. It supports a wide range of formats, including common codecs such as MP3, FLAC, OGG, AAC, as less common ones like chiptunes, tracker modules and any format handled by FFmpeg. The player can read and write many tag types, offers automatic character‑set detection for legacy ID3 tags, and includes a high‑quality tag editor with custom fields.

Music is added directly from the filesystem and can be organized with multiple playlists, tabbed views or a playlist browser. Users can sort and group tracks using advanced title‑formatting scripts, and the player provides cuesheet handling that automatically splits albums into individual tracks. Additional features include gapless playback, ReplayGain scanning, an 18‑band graphical equalizer, and a configurable DSP pipeline.

Album art can be displayed from embedded tags or external image files, with optional downloading from web services. Network capabilities include streaming radio support for selected formats, and the player’s UI is highly customizable through plugins and theme options.
