The tool also employs a naming technique that avoids the dashed halo that Finder normally shows around linked applications.

The application can be used interactively by dragging an .app bundle onto a drop zone, optionally providing a custom background, entering a volume name, and pressing a button to generate the DMG. For automated workflows, a command‑line interface accepts the path to the .app bundle and the desired volume name, creating the image in the same directory without launching the GUI.
