Dropzone
Create a popup grid of customizable actions. Scriptable in Ruby & Python.
Dropzone provides a macOS‑centric drag‑and‑drop interface that presents actions in a configurable grid. Users can place files onto the grid to trigger operations such as moving, copying, renaming, or uploading to cloud services, as well as launching applications or creating notes. The grid can be organized into multiple pages, with adjustable columns and sizing, and it reflects custom folder icons and colors set in Finder for visual identification.
The tool is scriptable through Ruby and Python, allowing developers to define new actions or automate existing ones. A command‑line utility, dz, enables invocation of actions, file addition to the Drop Bar, and grid switching directly from the terminal, supporting workflow automation without leaving the shell.
Designed for macOS 13+ with a modern interface, Dropzone emphasizes quick file handling, app launching, and integration with services such as AirDrop and Shortcuts, aiming to streamline routine tasks for power users and developers alike.
