ExtraBrain - Local-First AI Interview & Meeting Copilot

ExtraBrain is a desktop application for macOS that acts as an AI‑driven assistant during interviews, meetings, lectures and research sessions. It captures live audio, generates a transcription in real time, and enriches the conversation with screen‑aware context, organized prompts and answer structures. The tool stores facts and session memory while the discussion is ongoing, allowing users to retrieve relevant information without interrupting the flow.

The software is designed with a local‑first philosophy: transcription and on‑device AI run on compatible hardware, while users can also connect their own external AI providers such as Deepgram, OpenAI, Anthropic, Claude or Codex. Privacy controls let users decide what is captured and which model processes the data, keeping the workflow under their direct governance.

Intended for engineers, product managers, founders, students and research teams, ExtraBrain provides an “invisible” copilot that works across the interview and meeting platforms people already use. It is offered for free on macOS, with plans for Windows and Linux support.
