FileGator

FileGator is a powerful multi-user file manager with a single page front-end.

FileGator provides a self‑hosted web interface for managing files and folders on a server. It supports basic operations such as copy, move, rename, edit, create, delete, preview, zip, unzip, download, and upload, with drag‑and‑drop, progress tracking, pause/resume, and chunked uploads that allow large files regardless of server limits. The application can work with a local repository or connect to external storage adapters including FTP, Amazon S3, Dropbox, DigitalOcean Spaces, Azure Blob, and any Flysystem‑compatible service.

The system includes multi‑user capabilities, allowing administrators to define roles, permissions, and home directories for each user. Authentication can be backed by JSON files, databases, or WordPress, and sessions may be stored via native files, PDO, Redis, MongoDB, Memcached, or other Symfony‑compatible handlers. A single‑page front‑end built with Vue.js, Bulma, and Buefy delivers a responsive experience.

FileGator is released under the MIT license, is free and open source, and is positioned as a replacement for FTP/SFTP or cloud storage interfaces, suitable for team collaboration, educational submissions, field data collection, and general file sharing.
