glances
System monitoring tool.
Glances provides a curses‑based console interface that displays real‑time information about CPU, memory, load, processes, network, disk I/O, sensors, filesystems and container workloads (Docker and Podman). It aggregates these metrics into a concise overview and can also present a quick‑look view of the most important statistics. The tool runs on GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, macOS and Windows, relying on Python for cross‑platform compatibility.
In addition to the terminal UI, Glances offers a built‑in web interface, an XML‑RPC server and a RESTful JSON API, allowing remote monitoring from any device or integration with other software. It can export collected data to formats and services such as CSV, InfluxDB, Cassandra, OpenTSDB, StatsD, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, and includes a ready‑made Grafana dashboard.
The project is distributed via PyPI, with a minimal installation command and an optional “all” extras set that enables the full set of plugins. Documentation, a user mailing list, chat channels and a wiki support developers and users who need a lightweight, extensible system monitoring solution.
