Halloy
IRC client
Halloy is an open‑source IRC client written in Rust that uses the iced GUI library to deliver a native desktop experience on macOS, Windows, and Linux. It focuses on simplicity and speed, offering a single codebase that compiles to each platform without requiring separate implementations. Users can configure the client through a plain text config.toml file, adjusting servers, notifications, themes, fonts, pane layouts, and keyboard shortcuts to suit their workflow.
The client supports a broad range of IRCv3 capabilities, including account and away notifications, batch processing, channel context, message tags, extended joins, and SASL authentication, among others. These features enable richer interactions with modern IRC networks and bots while maintaining compatibility with legacy servers. Halloy’s open‑source license allows anyone to inspect, modify, or contribute to the code, and its GitHub repository serves as the hub for issue tracking and feature requests.
