Headlamp
UI for Kubernetes
Headlamp provides a graphical interface for interacting with Kubernetes clusters, offering both a web‑based view and a native desktop application for macOS, Windows, and Linux. It adapts its UI to the permissions granted to the user through RBAC, ensuring that only authorized resources are displayed and manipulable. The interface can be customized with branding and layout tweaks, allowing teams to create tailored experiences with minimal effort.
The project can be deployed in several ways: as a standalone desktop app for local cluster management, as an in‑cluster service accessed via an ingress, or through package managers such as Helm, Flatpak, Homebrew, and Docker Desktop extensions. Configuration files and Helm charts are supplied to simplify installation on common environments like Minikube, Docker Desktop, and Glasskube.
Headlamp is an official sub‑project of the Kubernetes SIG UI, and is used by multiple teams worldwide for day‑to‑day cluster monitoring and resource manipulation, leveraging its extensible design and RBAC‑aware controls.
