Jami
Universal communication platform which preserves the user's privacy and freedoms.
Jami provides end‑to‑end encrypted instant messaging, audio and video calls, group chats, and video‑conferences without relying on central servers. All communication is peer‑to‑peer, so data is relayed directly between users, and the software supports screen sharing, media streaming, and recording of audio/video messages. It also includes an extension platform for additional features and can operate as a SIP client.
The application runs on Linux, Android, Android TV, Windows, macOS, and iOS, allowing multiple devices to be linked to a single account without requiring any personal information. Users on the same local network can communicate even when offline, and there are no limits on file size, bandwidth, or number of accounts.
Jami is released under GPL‑3.0, is self‑hostable, free of subscription fees and advertising, and is maintained as a GNU project. Its design emphasizes privacy, anonymity, and freedom, making it suitable for individuals and groups who need secure, unrestricted communication across platforms.
