Kid3
Audio tagger focusing on efficiency
Kid3 is an audio‑tagging application that supports a wide range of formats, including MP3, Ogg/Vorbis, FLAC, Monkey’s Audio, MPC, MP4/AAC, Opus, Speex, TrueAudio, WavPack, WMA/WMV, WAV, AIFF and several tracker modules. It allows users to edit ID3v1.1, ID3v2.3 and ID3v2.4 tags, convert between tag versions, and modify tags for multiple files simultaneously, making it suitable for handling full albums or collections without repeated manual entry.
The program can generate tags from filenames, create filenames and directories from tags, and produce playlists. It also supports importing album information from online databases such as MusicBrainz and Discogs, exporting tags in CSV, HTML and other formats, and editing synchronized lyrics and event timing codes. Automation is possible through QML/JavaScript, D‑Bus or a command‑line interface.
Kid3 runs on Linux (KDE or Qt), Windows, macOS and Android, and is built with Qt, id3lib, libogg, libvorbis, libFLAC, TagLib and Chromaprint. It is released under the GNU GPL and is maintained as an open‑source project.
