Kiwi IRC
Responsive web IRC client with theming support.
Kiwi IRC is a web‑based IRC client delivered as static files that can be served from any web server or CDN. It connects to IRC networks directly via WebSocket or through a WebIRC gateway, and supports both single‑network and multi‑network setups. The client offers light and dark themes, desktop notifications, and multiple layout options for embedding in small page areas or using full‑screen pages.
The software is highly configurable through a single JSON file loaded at runtime, allowing administrators to define networks, connection methods, and UI options without rebuilding the client. It includes a plugin system that enables extensions such as file uploading and video calling, and it provides a “team mode” for workplace collaboration. Themes can be customized, and the client works on all modern browsers as well as IE11.
Kiwi IRC is open‑source under the Apache‑2.0 license, self‑hostable, and free to use without subscription. It can be installed by copying the built distribution to a web server, or by using the online client builder to generate a custom embed. The project targets users who need a lightweight, embeddable IRC interface with theming and extensibility.
