LinearMouse

LinearMouse is a macOS utility that lets users adjust the behavior of their mouse and trackpad. It provides controls for scrolling direction, pointer acceleration, and pointer speed, allowing each device to be tuned independently. The app also supports multiple profiles, so different settings can be applied automatically based on the active device, application, or display.

The scrolling options let users keep natural scrolling on a trackpad while reversing it on a mouse, and they can fine‑tune each direction for a comfortable feel. Pointer control includes precise adjustment of acceleration and speed, with the ability to revert to system defaults or disable acceleration entirely for consistent movement.

Button customization lets users remap mouse buttons and scroll actions to shortcuts, media controls, Mission Control, and other gestures, enabling workflow‑focused interactions. The software is distributed as a stable macOS package and can be installed via Homebrew.
