Neat Download Manager

The application provides a free download manager for macOS (OS X 10.10 or newer) and Windows (7 or newer). It accelerates file transfers by applying a dynamic segmentation algorithm that can utilize the full available bandwidth. The program organizes files by status—complete or incomplete—and by type such as video or document, and it supports HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP protocols as well as HTTP and SOCKS proxies.

Users can pause, resume, or recover interrupted downloads, and the manager allows bandwidth limits and maximum connection counts to be adjusted while a transfer is active. It includes a browser extension that captures links from webpages and can retrieve video or audio streams, including downloading and merging all .ts segments of an HLS video into a single file. Authentication methods such as Basic, Digest, and NTLM are supported for both HTTP and proxy connections.

The interface supports drag‑and‑drop on macOS and provides basic controls for managing multiple downloads simultaneously. The software is distributed as a small installer (approximately 900 KB for Windows, 1.4 MB for macOS) and is offered under a free‑tier license.
