Obscura VPN

Obscura VPN is a macOS‑only client that routes traffic through a two‑party architecture. The client connects to Obscura’s relay servers, which forward encrypted packets to exit nodes operated by Mullvad. All data between the client and the exit node is protected with WireGuard®, and the relay never decrypts the traffic, so the service only observes the user’s IP address and payment information.

The design emphasizes provable privacy: no logs of browsing activity are stored, and the protocol is built to be indistinguishable from ordinary internet traffic by using QUIC, the transport layer behind HTTP/3. This stealth approach aims to reduce the likelihood of detection or blocking by network filters and censors.

Users who require strong anonymity can sign up without providing personal identifiers such as name, email, or phone number, and payments can be made with Bitcoin’s Lightning Network or Monero. The service targets privacy‑focused individuals who want a VPN that does not retain or expose their browsing data.
