OpenPUI

OpenPUI provides a framework for generating user interfaces that can be accessed not only by people but also by autonomous agents and animal companions. It defines an open standard, the Pet Context Protocol, that describes how interface elements are presented and interacted with across different species. The system builds on the P2UI specification to create adaptable layouts and interaction patterns that can be interpreted by a variety of users, including pets.

The library is intended for developers who need to design applications that support non‑human participants, such as robotic assistants, AI agents, or animal‑focused devices. By exposing a common protocol, OpenPUI enables consistent behavior across platforms and devices, allowing the same UI description to be rendered for humans, software agents, or animal users without custom code for each case.

OpenPUI is currently in an experimental stage, offering core functionality for generating and delivering pet‑accessible interfaces while the standard and tooling continue to evolve.
