PassIt

PassIt is a self‑hosted password manager that stores passwords and secure notes in a web‑based interface accessible from any browser. It supports offline reading of stored credentials and offers CSV import and export for data migration. The service includes browser extensions for Chrome and Firefox and a progressive web app for Android and iOS, enabling consistent access across devices.

The application allows users to organize credentials into groups and share those groups with other users, facilitating collaborative password management for friends, families, or coworkers. Sharing is controlled at the group level, and no separate administration console is provided. Security relies on libsodium for public‑key and secret‑key cryptography and secure hashing, ensuring that the operator cannot decrypt stored passwords and that a compromised server still requires the user’s master password to reveal data.

PassIt’s code is released under the AGPL‑3.0 license, making it fully open source and libre. It is offered as a free tier without subscription requirements and is considered stable for production use.
