PlugData

PlugData provides a visual programming environment for creating and manipulating audio systems without writing code. Users assemble virtual blocks on a canvas, connect them with cables, and hear the result instantly, enabling rapid prototyping of synthesizers, effects, and other digital audio processes. The platform includes the ELSE and Cyclone libraries, as well as Gem, offering a broad set of objects for high‑level abstractions and compatibility with Max‑style workflows.

The software can run as a native desktop application on macOS, Windows, Linux, and iOS, or be exported as a VST3, AU, CLAP, or LV2 plugin for use inside a digital audio workstation. It also supports compilation to embedded hardware via the Heavy/hvcc toolchain, allowing patches to be deployed on platforms such as the Electro‑Smith Daisy.
