Harzing Publish or Perish

The program retrieves citation data from multiple scholarly sources, then calculates a range of bibliometric indicators such as total papers, total citations, and h‑index. Results are displayed on screen and can be copied to the clipboard or exported in various file formats for later use. A built‑in help file offers search tips and explanations of the metrics.

It is aimed at individual researchers who need to demonstrate research impact for tenure, promotion, job applications, performance reviews, or similar evaluations. The tool also supports tasks like selecting journals, conducting literature reviews, performing bibliometric studies, and preparing scholarly acknowledgments or obituaries.
