RDSAI CLI offers a command‑line interface that integrates AI assistance into MySQL database workflows. It lets users connect to local or remote MySQL instances as well as CSV and Excel files, then issue queries either as raw SQL or in natural language (English or Chinese). The tool automatically distinguishes between the two, provides instant explanations of results, and supports a history of past queries.

The assistant draws on multiple large‑language‑model providers—including Qwen, OpenAI, DeepSeek, Anthropic, and Gemini—to optimize SQL, diagnose performance issues, and generate schema analyses with compliance checks. Additional capabilities include execution‑plan analysis, automated sysbench benchmarking, and extensibility through Model Context Protocol servers. By default the client operates in read‑only mode, requiring explicit confirmation for any DDL or DML actions, though a “YOLO” mode can be enabled for auto‑approval.

Installation targets Python 3.13+ and can be performed via a one‑click script, the uv tool, or pip. Configuration of the chosen LLM provider is handled through an interactive wizard that stores credentials locally. The interface also supplies meta‑commands for connecting, benchmarking, benchmarking, and managing model settings, making it suitable for developers who need AI‑enhanced database interaction without leaving the terminal.
