Rnote

Rnote is a vector‑based drawing application that lets users sketch, write handwritten notes, and annotate PDFs, images, and other documents. It supports pressure‑sensitive stylus input with configurable stroke styles, and offers tools for creating, moving, rotating, and resizing shapes. The canvas can be arranged as fixed pages, a continuous vertical flow, or an infinite area, with customizable background colors, patterns, and page formats.

The program includes an adaptive user interface suited for both large and small screens, and provides an integrated workspace browser for quick file access. Users can import PDFs, bitmap files, and SVG images, and export whole documents, pages, or selections to formats such as SVG, PDF, and Xopp. It also supports drag‑and‑drop, clipboard operations, autosave, printing, and multiple document tabs.

Targeted at students, teachers, and anyone using a drawing tablet, Rnote runs on macOS, Linux, and Windows. It stores work in a native .rnote format, with the caveat that the file format is still unstable and may change between releases.
