RoaringApps

The application scans the applications installed on a macOS computer and retrieves compatibility data from the RoaringApps service. Users specify the folder that contains their apps, and the program compiles a report showing each app’s compatibility status, version details, and any known issues. The interface also includes a button for sharing the compatibility information with others.

The tool is intended for macOS users who want to verify whether their installed software works with the current operating system version. It sends a list of applications, along with the Mac model and OS version, to a remote server, which attempts to match each entry using name, developer, version number, and bundle identifier. Matching results include a confidence percentage and may flag mismatches for user review.

Although marked as stable, the software is still in beta and may exhibit bugs such as incorrect matches or interface glitches. It records only anonymous system metrics, and developers encourage users to report any problems or mismatches to improve the database.
