Scoold

Scoold

Stack Overflow in a JAR. An enterprise-ready Q&A platform with full-text search, SAML, LDAP integration and social login support.

A self‑hosted Q&A and knowledge‑sharing platform inspired by Stack Overflow, Scoold lets teams ask, answer, and organize information within a single interface. It provides full‑text search, reputation and badge systems, and supports multiple “spaces” for isolated groups of users and content. The backend runs as a Spring Boot JAR that relies on the separate Para service for data storage, making the code base lightweight and easy to understand.

The platform integrates with enterprise identity providers through LDAP, SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0 and SCIM, and offers social login options such as Google, GitHub and Microsoft. A RESTful API defined with OpenAPI 3.0 enables custom automations and embedding, while features like location‑based search, webhooks, and email notifications support a variety of use cases from internal forums to customer support portals.

Scoold is open source under the Apache‑2.0 license, can be deployed on‑premises or in any cloud via Docker, JAR, or native executable, and stores data in any popular database supported by Para. Its minimal frontend uses jQuery and Materialize CSS, and it includes markdown with syntax highlighting, emoji support, and SEO‑friendly rendering.
