SecuritySpy is NVR software for macOS that lets users build and manage video‑surveillance systems from a single Mac. It supports any IP camera, including those that use the ONVIF standard, and can scale from a few home cameras to installations with hundreds of devices. Recording can be continuous or triggered by motion, and the system can send email alerts or other notifications when motion is detected.

The application incorporates AI‑powered motion detection that uses deep neural networks to analyse video streams and reduce false positives. This smart detection can also initiate recordings and alerts only when relevant activity occurs, helping to conserve storage and focus attention on important events.

Remote monitoring is built in, allowing users to view live feeds and control the system from anywhere without needing to configure port forwarding. The interface is optimized for macOS with hardware‑accelerated video processing and multi‑threading, delivering high performance even when handling many simultaneous camera streams.
