smcFanControl
Sets a minimum speed for built-in fans
The program lets macOS users define a minimum rotation speed for the internal fans of Intel‑based Macs. By raising the baseline fan speed, it can keep the system cooler while still respecting Apple’s default lower limits, preventing settings that could harm the hardware. The tool is distributed as a stable, core‑macOS application and runs on both Apple Silicon and Intel Macs with OS X 10.7 or later.
Installation is performed through Homebrew Cask, after which the application can be launched from Spotlight like any other macOS utility. The binary is provided as a zip archive, and documentation including a FAQ is bundled within the download. The software is released under the GPL 2 license.
