Spacedrive

Spacedrive provides a unified file‑exploration layer that aggregates local disks, external drives, NAS, and major cloud storage services such as S3, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, Azure and GCS into a single searchable index. Each file is identified by a BLAKE3 content hash, enabling deduplication and redundancy tracking across all devices. The system operates locally, with optional peer‑to‑peer synchronization via Iroh/QUIC, allowing metadata and selected files to be shared without relying on central servers.

The application offers nine different views—including grid, list, media, and knowledge—alongside QuickPreview for a wide range of media types. It also supports script‑based adapters that index external data sources such as Gmail, Apple Notes, Chrome bookmarks, Obsidian, Slack, GitHub and calendar events, making those items searchable alongside regular files. An optional AI agent runtime, Spacebot, can be paired with a Spacedrive node to provide permission‑controlled automation and data access across the device network.
