Subsonic

A self‑hosted server lets you stream music, videos and podcasts from your own computer to any web browser or compatible client. The service runs on Windows, macOS, Linux and other platforms, exposing a web interface that supports on‑the‑fly downsampling, format conversion, and full tag, lyric and album‑art handling. It also offers DLNA support, an open REST API, and integration with devices such as Chromecast and Sonos, plus a jukebox mode for continuous playback.

Mobile and desktop applications are available for Android, iPhone, Windows Phone, Chrome and other environments, allowing playback on the go while keeping the media library under your control. The server can host multiple front‑ends and is highly customizable, giving users flexibility in how they organize and access their collections.
