Sunshine

Remote game stream host for Moonlight with support up to 120 frames per second and 4K resolution.

Sunshine is a self‑hosted server that streams games to Moonlight clients. It runs on the user’s own hardware, eliminating the need for a cloud gaming subscription, and can be accessed from Moonlight applications on Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, Xbox and other platforms. The server supports hardware encoding on AMD, Intel and Nvidia GPUs, with a software‑encoding fallback, and is built for low‑latency performance.

A web‑based interface lets users configure the server, pair clients, and manage settings from any browser, including mobile devices. Sunshine emulates Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch controllers, allowing most gamepads to work through Moonlight, though Nintendo Switch emulation is limited to Linux and gamepad emulation is not available on macOS.

The project is released under GPL‑3.0, is free to use, and can be installed via various package sources such as Flathub, Docker, Homebrew and direct GitHub releases. Documentation covers installation, configuration and client pairing, and the codebase is actively maintained with continuous‑integration testing.
