Todour

Todo.txt application Todour

Visit

The program reads and writes a todo.txt file directly, supporting the plain‑text format popularized by Gina Trapani and compatible with the Getting Things Done methodology. Users point the application to the location of their todo.txt (and optional done.txt) and can add, edit, complete, or delete tasks without any intermediate caching or separate save steps. The interface is intentionally minimal, relying on the underlying file for all operations.

It runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux, with builds provided as native Qt/C++ binaries and a Debian package that assumes Qt 5 is installed. A portable Windows version and an experimental web version are also available, though the web build does not share state with the desktop client. Updates are checked weekly unless disabled in settings.

The source code is hosted on GitHub, and a community fork exists for additional contributions. The application is positioned for users who prefer a simple, file‑based todo system and want a stable, cross‑platform client that avoids hidden storage or complex features.
