Ukrainian Unicode Layout

The Ukrainian Unicode Layout provides a keyboard configuration for macOS that merges Ukrainian and English keymaps while adding direct access to typographic symbols. It places characters such as ї, ґ, ₴, ©, ®, ™ and … on intuitive positions, allowing users to type them without switching layouts or using additional software. The layout also includes Russian‑specific symbols (e.g., э, ы, ₽) reachable via the Option modifier, eliminating the need for a separate Russian keyboard.

Target users are Ukrainian speakers and anyone who frequently types Ukrainian text together with common typographic symbols on a Mac. The design keeps the standard English layout available alongside the Ukrainian one, marked with neutral icons for easy identification, and relies on the standard macOS input‑source mechanism for activation.

Installation is performed by running a provided installer or copying the bundle into the user’s Keyboard Layouts folder, after which the layout appears in System Preferences. The project is released under the MIT license and is considered stable.
