Vibe Island
Dynamic island AI agent utility
Vibe Island adds a macOS Dynamic Island panel that surfaces the activity of multiple AI coding assistants and command‑line agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, Cursor, Kimi Code, and others. It shows real‑time status, notifications, permission prompts, and lets users approve actions or jump directly to the originating terminal tab or split pane, all from the notch area. The utility configures itself automatically for each supported agent and terminal, requiring no manual setup.
The tool is aimed at developers who run several AI‑driven code assistants simultaneously and want a single, unobtrusive view of their progress. It supports over a dozen agents and more than a dozen terminal applications, providing sound alerts, Markdown‑based plan previews, and usage tracking for token‑based services. Because it is written in pure Swift, it runs locally without Electron, consumes under 50 MB of RAM, and is optimized for Apple Silicon.
Key distinctive aspects include zero‑configuration installation, direct integration with a wide range of agents and terminals, and the ability to approve or deny permission requests without leaving the Dynamic Island interface. The app also offers customizable 8‑bit sound alerts and a plan‑review pane that renders Markdown, enhancing workflow continuity while keeping resource usage minimal.
