VirtualHere

Use USB devices remotely over a network

Visit

The client runs on Windows, macOS (12 or later) and Linux, providing a graphical or console interface that discovers USB devices shared by a VirtualHere USB Server on the same network. Detected devices appear in a tree view; a right‑click and “Use” command makes the selected device appear as if it were locally attached, allowing any software that works with the physical device to use it transparently.

It supports execution as a background service, remote control through an API, and encrypted connections via SSL. On Linux the client leverages the built‑in usbip driver, with console variants that are fully statically compiled and require no additional runtimes, while the Windows and macOS builds include both Intel and ARM64 binaries.

The software is positioned for users who need to share printers, scanners, dongles, or other USB peripherals across machines without physically moving the hardware, and it is offered as a stable, cross‑platform utility.
