Yate

Yate is a macOS‑only application that lets users edit metadata tags for a wide range of audio and video formats, including MP3, M4A, MP4, FLAC, AIFF, WAV, OGG, Monkey’s Audio and WavPack. It provides a native tagging library built specifically for the Mac environment, supporting both Intel and Apple silicon processors.

The program offers an extensible scripting system called “actions,” which can automate tagging workflows and integrate with external services such as AcousticBrainz, AcousticID, Beatport, Discogs, iTunes/Music/TV, last.fm, MusicBrainz and The Movie Database. Additional integrations can be added through custom actions, and the project supplies sample actions, templates and documentation.

Yate runs on macOS 10.10 or newer, with a universal build that works on older and recent hardware. A 14‑day trial is available without feature restrictions, after which a perpetual license can be purchased; updates are free for licensed users.
