AVTouchBar
Audio Visualiser for the Touch Bar
AVTouchBar renders real‑time audio visualizations on the Touch Bar of MacBook Pro keyboards. It captures sound from the internal microphone or, when a third‑party driver is installed, from system audio, and translates the waveform into animated color gradients displayed on the OLED strip. Users can select preset colors from the menu bar or create custom gradients with a built‑in manager that supports adding, deleting, importing, and sharing color nodes.
The application offers two interaction modes. Basic mode automates all settings, while advanced mode exposes detailed controls for audio source, color scheme, and visual effects. Touch Bar gestures provide quick adjustments: a single tap cycles colors, a long press toggles fullscreen mode, and a slide changes the system volume. When needed, AVTouchBar automatically creates a temporary aggregate audio output device and removes it on exit, eliminating manual configuration.
Designed for macOS 10.15 and later, the software is stable and focuses on delivering smooth animations and flexible customization without requiring extensive setup. It is maintained as an open‑source project with community support.
