Battery Beggar

A macOS menu‑bar utility that monitors the system’s battery level and displays a percentage indicator, with optional icon or text. It includes five personality packs—Dramatic, Matter of Fact, Passive Aggressive, Anxious, and Stoic—each generating unique commentary at various charge thresholds. The app can also speak the commentary aloud using any system voice when voice mode is enabled.

The software runs locally without creating an account, sending data to external services, and can be set to launch automatically at login. Users may disable the personality feature entirely, leaving only a minimal battery indicator.

Designed for users who want a more engaging way to track battery status, the app aims to increase awareness of power usage through animated, spoken feedback while remaining a simple, privacy‑focused menu‑bar tool.
