Chrysalis
Graphical configurator for Kaleidoscope-powered keyboards
Chrysalis is a graphical configuration tool for keyboards that run the Kaleidoscope firmware. It runs as a web‑based application in Chromium‑based browsers that support WebSerial and WebUSB, allowing users to edit keymaps, copy layers, set defaults, and adjust per‑key LED colormaps on supported hardware. The interface also handles firmware upgrades, offering either the bundled Chrysalis‑enabled firmware or custom firmware that includes the required Kaleidoscope plugins.
The software supports several Keyboardio models, including the Model01, Model100, and Atreus, and can communicate with these devices directly through the browser. Users can upload firmware that contains FocusSerial, EEPROM‑Settings, EEPROM‑Keymap, and Colormap plugins, enabling full keymap and lighting configuration without additional tools.
Development is straightforward, with a simple yarn‑based setup, and the project maintains translations via Weblate. Issues and feature requests are tracked on GitHub, encouraging community contributions and ongoing improvements.
