Clippy records every item copied on macOS—text, images, code, colors, URLs, and more—and presents them in a card‑based history accessible from the menu bar. Each entry includes a content‑aware preview, such as URL host chips, color swatches, syntax‑highlighted code, or thumbnail images, and can be searched, starred, pinned, or encrypted. Hover actions reveal quick paste, AI‑driven transformations, and other utilities without leaving the interface.

The utility adds a built‑in screenshot editor with over twenty annotation tools, a dock‑style preview that streams live thumbnails, and a “Shelf” drawer for files that need to be kept across applications. It also offers a file converter that handles images, documents, audio, video, and data formats via drag‑and‑drop.

AI transformations—summarization, translation, grammar fixing, code explanation—run locally through Ollama or via cloud services, and reusable text snippets can be saved and triggered by keywords. All features operate locally on the Mac with no accounts, cloud storage, or telemetry.
