PasteBar

PasteBar is an open‑source clipboard manager for macOS and Windows that records an unlimited history of copied items, including text, images, files, links and code snippets. Users can search the history, add notes, and organize clips into collections, tabs and boards, while the application stores data locally and offers optional PIN‑protected collections for sensitive content.

The tool provides extensive customization through advanced keyboard shortcuts—supporting up to three‑key combinations—customizable menus, and template forms. It also includes smart features such as automatic language detection with syntax highlighting, markdown support in notes, and a quick‑paste window that initiates a search as the user types. Backup and restore functions let users export or import the entire clipboard database, and the data location can be redirected to cloud storage or network drives for syncing across devices.

Developed with Rust (Tauri, Diesel ORM) and JavaScript (React, TailwindCSS), PasteBar runs on Apple Silicon, Intel and AMD platforms and supports multiple languages. It is released under a Creative Commons Attribution‑NonCommercial license with a limited commercial use exception.
